The FCC is set to propose a new set of rules that would finally allow all passengers to use their cell phones and other electronic devices while in the air.
"Modern technologies can deliver mobile services in the air safely and reliably, and the time is right to review our outdated and restrictive rules," said FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler.
But don't go busting out your phone just yet. It might be a few months before the rule is official and the old rules stop being enforced.
